+1 That is is kind of "Think Different" Apple should be encouraging!
I was more thinking along the lines of why Apple is suddenly putting SD card readers into several models. They are usually driving new technologies (or ignoring them), not catching up. SD cards have been around for a while now. Why is Apple choosing now to start adding SD card readers. And, in the case of the Mini - on the back.

Apple realized they finally needed to catch up with the times. Although, they're still not resting on their "no BluRay" laurels in order to "encourage" people to use iTune$ to buy, stream and watch HD content (minus the extras only found on BluRay).

One thing that i hadnt considered until i got to use it first hand was the whole issue of latency. I got a 64GB VZW model (and while i was origianlly going to get the ATT version, i figured i'd just jailbreak and go the miWi route.. so I am gonna keep the vzw one)..
Anyway, ive used an att one and a vzw one side by side both with abotu 3 bars of signal and the vzw one smoked the att one on response time alone. the VZW was almost done loading the whole page before the att one even begun. They ultimately ended up finishing close to one another, and i am sure on larger uploads and downloads teh faster bandwidth would be a plus, but for most browsing, having a faster response time is better.... and the VZW definitely wins in this area.

It says 'through Software Update', so if you have Leopard installed, you should be able to download it just like normal updates. No need to go BACK to torrents ;) .

My wife's Macbook is criminally slow and I'm gonna remove some unused programs but I don't know how to do that. Is there no add/remove applications option like the one in Windows?
The MB is so super slow that it's taking quite a while just to open folders so I don't really have the time nor patience to search myself. Thought it would be best to ask you guys.
Please help! Also advices on how to speed up a Mac without hardware installation are most welcome!

A gas tax is the way to go for most of the country, but I do believe that in some urban areas, a mileage tax may work. London's congestion charge was effective in reducing gridlock there.
Insurance rates based on mileage driven are also gaining traction.
One thing is for sure, the highway lobby is spending way more money than is available from gas taxes. It's time to rein them in. Most importantly, it's time to stop allowing housing developments to spring up without transit links.

If Apple really wants to gain significant market share, it's going to have to advertise to people other than yuppies. I AM a yuppie and Apple's advertising and general attitude are a huge turn off for me.
Working class America is intimidated by snobbery and will always feel more comfortable with down-to-earth, Wal-Marty companies. If Apple wants to gain users, it needs to find an innovative way to advertise to both it's existing yuppie constituency and common consumers. Otherwise they can forget about rising higher than a low double digit percentage.
People who are happy with Wal-Marty companies are going to buy the cheapest thing they can find, so they will go for the $500 laptops and $350 desktops.
Apple is not in the business of massive marketshare, it is in the business of making money. It is doing quite well with its current offerings AND current marketing, so it is unlikely to go downmarket. Consider, 58% of its income and most likely a similar percentage of profits come from Macs, so that's 546x.58 = $317 million. Compare this to Gateway - similar number of PCs sold, but it made a loss of $7 million last quarter.
Increased profits come with increased market, but only up to a point.

1) Apple announces intel switch, Adobe is there with smiles raving "It's about time!"
2) Apple releases intel based MBP and iMac, shortly after Adobe releases Universal FAQs sheet saying that professionals will have to wait till CS3 for a universal binary.
3) Adobe starts cutting out PPC support, but has yet to offer any Intel Support.
Am I the only one a little confused by their actions? So what? neither chip is good enough?

(And yes, I am sure such a 2TB card, if and when it ships, would be significantly expensive).
Ironically, when technology is advanced enough to fit 2 TB on a little SDXC card, there will be a new specification in wide use instead. :) :)

Here is a nice place to start (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2493) to learn about this. There are apps available (not free IIRC) that will allow for quite a bit of customization. But all (edit: well, not all, but a lot) of it can be done for free with enough research and time.
Have fun! I spent hours upon hours playing around with this when I first switched from Windows to Mac. :)

This gave me the idea of a combined AppleCare plan. Since Apple is pitching their mobile computing products in three major categories: iPhone, iPad, and MacBook - it would be really cool to offer a combined AC plan for two or all three categories.
Like I have a iPhone and a MacBook - wouldn't it be neat to be able to buy a hybrid plan that would be about $20 to $30 cheaper than buying them individually?
